Four of the eight fighters who took part in the 2024 K-1 MAX Final will make their return on October 5 at the K-1 World GP 2024 in Osaka.
K-1 MAX title winner Stoyan Koprivlenski is set to take on the newly crowned Krush Super Welterweight (-70 kg) champion Jinku Oda, who’ll be making the first major step-up of his short career. Zhora Akopyan and Darryl Verdonk, both of whom exited the tournament in the quarterfinals, will measure off against each other, while semifinalist Dengue Silva will look to bounce back from his loss against Koprivlenski by overcoming two-time K-1 super welterweight title challenger Jordann Pikeur.
A couple of title hopefuls will make their case for a title shot in the featherweight (-57.5 kg) division, provided champion Taito Gunji successfully fends off Takumi Terada on the 29th. Former K-1 champion Tatsuya Tsubakihara will rematch former Krush champion Shuhei Kumura, three years since triumphing over him, while 2022 K-1 Featherweight Grand Prix finalist Toma Tanabe is scheduled to face {Shoki Kaneda, who had all but assured an attempt at gold prior to his loss to Takumi Terada.
Last, but not least, K-1 Women’s Flyweight champion and pound-for-pound ranked Saho Yoshino will face the undefeated Erivan Barut, a standout amateur boxer and kickboxer. As previously announced, the event will feature the K-1 World GP 2024 Qualifier Asian Round.
