The mega-fight between combat sports legends Manny Pacquiao and Buakaw is taking shape. It's been officially announced that the fight between two of Asia's biggest stars will go down on April 20 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
The bout will be contested under international boxing rules, in a "six three-minute rounds with two-minute breaks" format.
It was also announced that the winner will receive a cash prize of at least 10 million baht (US$289,000). That would would fall into the purse range of Buakaw, but seems like a comparably meager yield for the eight-division world champion Filipino.
The event is rumored to cost around 875 million baht (US$25 million). Fresh Air Festival CEO Vinij Lertratanachai hopes to bring new eyes to the sport.

Just like with his match against fellow Thai legend Saenchai, fans are eager to find out if the fight will merely be an exhibition or if both fighters will put it all on the line when meeting in the ring.
