ONE Fight Night 7 took place today in Bangkok, Thailand at the historic Lumpinee Stadium. The event was headlined by a rematch between Fabricio Andrade and his fellow Brazilian countryman John Lineker. Both delivered a fight of the year contender, that saw Andrade coming out on top to claim the ONE Bantamweight Championship. In the co-main event, Tawanchai defended his ONE Featherweight Muay Thai title against Jamal Yusupov.
HIGHLIGHTS
Tawanchai PK Saenchai def. Jamal Yusupov – Quick work for the ONE Featherweight Muay Thai champion in his first title defense. Tawanchai came out blasting, landing several teeps and low kicks to start the fight. Only 49 seconds into the opening-round Tawanchai connected with another crushing low kick that buckled Yusupov. Unable to continue, referee Olivier Coste waved off the bout.
According to Tawanchai, there's "no one in his weight division" left to challenge him anymore, but he would like to return as soon as possible. He's 50-50 on joining the Openweight Muay Thai Grand Prix, as he likes to focus entirely on his weight division whether it's Kickboxing or Muay Thai.
