Who Will Reign As South America’s Lightweight King? WGP 84 All-Stars Grand Prix Finals To Take Place on December 19

Dec 16, 2025
The best lightweight fighters in South America battle for supremacy in the WGP 84 All-Stars Grand Prix Finals on December 19.

With the quarterfinals behind us, we now shift our focus to the tournament finals, which will unfold in a single evening as the top lightweights from South America's premier kickboxing organization face off to determine who will reign as the continent's best.

The WGP 84 undercard will stream for free on the promotion’s official YouTube channel on December 19, starting at 7:00 p.m. (BRT). The Super Fights and main card will air exclusively on Combate in Brazil from 9:00 p.m. (BRT).

The first fight of the tournament will feature the durable veteran Francisco Mairon, a Muay Thai specialist with more experience in the clinch and with kicks than in kickboxing exchanges, against Watson de Castro, an MMA fighter who scored an upset victory over Teodoro Ruiz in the Grand Prix's quarterfinals.

The winner of this bout will face the winner of the second fight, where former WGP Title challenger Edgar Boca, known for his relentless pressure fighting, takes on German 'Lobito' Badallo, who impressed with a stoppage of Nicolas Tardiolli in his WGP debut. While both were considered long shots to win the tournament, their standout quarterfinal performances have earned them wildcard status in this Grand Prix.

On the other side of the bracket is one of our favorites. One of them is Paulo Victor, a standout amateur and professional known for his heavy-handed approach, preferring to sit down on his strikes and prioritize damage over volume. He’ll face Jackson Elitelmo, another fighter with an amateur pedigree, but with a completely different style, focusing on point scoring and distance management.

The final semifinal bout features the clear favorite and the most well-known kickboxer in the tournament: current WGP Lightweight Champion, Cabelo Monteiro. Experienced and well-rounded, Monteiro overwhelms opponents with his volume, cardio, and superior skill. However, it won’t be an easy night for him, as he’ll face Jhonatan Hora, the hardest puncher in the Grand Prix. With six stoppages in as many professional boxing bouts, Hora has carried that knockout power into kickboxing, as demonstrated by his first-round KO of Felipe Artillero in the quarterfinals.

Regardless of how the brackets unfold, it’s sure to be a lively and entertaining evening. Be sure to check out our Schedule page for ticket and viewing details, as WGP’s final event of the year promises to be the most exciting one yet.
