Belgian kickboxer Youssef Challouki, 28, is under investigation by Antwerp authorities for allegedly sending inappropriate messages to minors. The inquiry began in June when a 14-year-old former student from the Scheppers Institute in Deurne filed a complaint. Since then, two more minors, all former students, have come forward with similar allegations.
Challouki denies wrongdoing with two of them but admitted to an inappropriate exchange with one, stating, "In a weak moment, I had an inappropriate conversation with her, and in doing so crossed the boundaries and distance that one should maintain as a teacher."
Just one day after news broke of his upcoming fight with Japanese kickboxing star Masaaki Noiri, scheduled for December 20 at ONE Friday Fights 92, the promotional listing was removed as word of the investigation spread. The bout was expected to be a major step up in Challouki’s career, offering him a chance to showcase his skills on the big stage.
When asked for comment, ONE Championship stated, "We take these allegations seriously and are conducting an internal investigation."
Currently released under specific conditions, Challouki is cooperating with authorities and undergoing therapy. His lawyer, Sanne De Clerck, confirmed his commitment to fully participate in the investigation.
