As Kickboxing continues to grow on a global scale with promotions like GLORY, K-1, ONE Championship, and more, fighters are constantly jockeying for position in the media's eyes. Every month, Beyond Kickboxing will compile rankings for every weight class including pound-for-pound, for both men and women.

  1. Results. This is the most objective criterion and takes precedence over all others.
  2. Accomplishments. A fighter's accomplishments in the recent past can be a factor to determine his place in the ratings. That includes the quality of opposition.
  3. Performance. How a fighter performs in a victory or defeat can be a factor to determine his place in the ratings.

Disqualification Criteria & Guidelines

  • Fighters are ineligible for the rankings when they have been inactive for 18 or more months. Fights under Muay Thai rules don't count!
    • If a fighter officially retires from the sport, or expresses his intention to take an extended break they will still be ranked for one month, but removed after.
    • If a fighter makes the switch to MMA or boxing, and it's uncertain whether he will return or he's retired, he will be removed after twelve months of inactivity.
    • Due to the insufficient level of drug testing throughout different promotions, fighters testing positive for banned substances will not be removed from the rankings, nor will it influence their standing in the rankings. However, if the announced suspension period plus the time they've been inactive since their last fight exceeds 18 months they will be removed immediately.
  • Contenders active in two or more divisions may be removed from a division’s rankings after twelve months of inactivity with no scheduled bout on the horizon.
  • Although close losses and poor wins may be reflected in the rankings, the board will refrain from nullifying the official results.
  • The board reserves the right to adjust rankings for lack of notable results in an extended period of time.
  • To accommodate for promotions with different weight classes and catchweight fights, fighters are given a 0.5 KG allowance for every division up to Super Featherweight and a 1 KG one for Lightweight and above.

The Beyond Kick rankings are compiled by Kevin Strobel (Beyond Kickboxing), Ulysse Abdat (Beyond Kickboxing), Borna Pico (Beyond Kickboxing), Anthony Barry (Beyond Kickboxing), Zach Aittama (Combat Press), Don Goodman (A Podcast about Kickboxing), Bjarne Collet (Main Event NL).
