Kickboxing superstar Takeru Segawa has signed with ONE Championship.

 ONE Championship CEO and Chairman Chatri Sityodtong announced on Facebook that Kickboxing superstar Takeru Segawa has signed with ONE Championship.

Japan's Takeru Segawa is one of the biggest names in kickboxing today. The K-1 superstar had a blockbuster match against the undefeated phenom Tenshin Nasukawa in summer of last year. Since their major match, Takeru planned to tour the world, kickboxing across various organizations and nations. He is booked against Bailey Sugden for the ISKA world title at MTGP on June 24. Additionally, it was also recently revealed, that Takeru signed an exclusive broadcasting deal with Abema, for a massive $750,000 per fight, making him the best-paid athlete in the sport.

Takeru Segawa is a top pound-for-pound kickboxer having held multiple world titles in K-1. Throughout his storied career, he has earned three Grand Prix world titles in addition to his three K-1 divisional world titles. He is known for his exciting knockout style.

Now, Takeru Segawa has been confirmed to have signed with ONE Championship. The Japanese kickboxer has been called out by many fighters in ONE Championship, including Muay Thai golden boy Rodtang Jitmuangnon. Other potential opponents include kickboxing champions such as Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Jonathan Di Bella.

The specifics of the deal are not revealed yet. Fans are eager to know how many fights he has signed and how exclusive he is under this contract.
