Donovan Wisse has accepted a fight against the current #1 ranked GLORY Middleweight contender César Almeida, as stated by Wisse himself in a video, which has been uploaded to the Team Wisse YouTube channel.
In his return to the GLORY ring, following a nearly three-year period in which he didn't compete with the promotion, Almeida pulled a major unanimous decision upset victory over Serkan Ozcaglayan, who was at the time considered next in line for a title shot. According to Wisse, soon after this victory, the GLORY matchmakers reached out to his manager and offered them a fight with Almeida. Should Almeida's camp accept as well, the Middleweight title bout is expected to take place at GLORY 82 on November 19, in Bonn, Germany.
This will be Wisse's second defense of his GLORY Middleweight Championship, which he initially won with a third-round technical knockout of Yousri Belgaroui in September of last year and defended by unanimous decision against Juri De Sousa in August of this year.
This will furthermore be the second time that these two fighters will meet, as they previously fought almost three years ago, on the undercard of the GLORY COLLISION 2. Should "Cesinha" accept the challenge, this will surely prove to be an exciting addition to GLORY 82.
