The fight between the two Japanese brawlers is off.

Tokyo police have arrested former K-1 champion & RIZIN fighter Minoru Kimura on suspicion of marijuana possession at a station in Nishitokyo.

The 31-year-old fighter was reportedly carrying marijuana liquid and plant fragments when questioned by police at Seibu Ikebukuro Line’s Hibari-gaoka Station. Lab tests confirmed the presence of marijuana.

Kimura was scheduled to face YA-MAN in a 72 kg bout with 4 oz gloves on October 5, under YA-MAN's own promotion, FIGHT CLUB.

"I can only laugh... In the history of combat sports, has a main event fighter ever been arrested before the fight? No, right? It's a crime. He's been arrested, so he can't go anywhere for about 20 days. I've been talking with ABEMA about doing a free broadcast so that the other fighters on the card can still shine.”

After the news broke, YA-MAN announced that the fight had been officially canceled. While the event will still take place, it will no longer be available as a pay-per-view. Organizers are now working to find a short-notice replacement for YA-MAN, and those who purchased the PPV will receive a refund.
