The Japanese striker has a tall order for his promotional debut.

Masaaki Noiri, 30, has been officially booked for his ONE Championship debut. The former K-1 Super Lightweight and Welterweight champion will be taking on former GLORY champion Sitthichai on June 8 at ONE 167 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Just two weeks ago, ONE revealed the signing of the accomplished Japanese kickboxer. He will be looking to demonstrate his K-1 pedigree against the Thai veteran, who has been experiencing a rare career low. For the first time in a decade, Sitthichai has lost back-to-back fights and struggled to maintain form even in his victories against opponents like Eddie Abasolo.

A fight that could be described as a watershed moment in the career of both fighters, it remains to be seen if the result has any influence on the standings of the upcoming Featherweight Grand Prix.
