Giorgio Petrosyan, regarded by many as the greatest kickboxer in the history of the sport, will make his return to professional competition against the WAKO-Pro World Super Welterweight (-69.1 KG) champion Sergio Sanchez at Petrosyanmania on May 18.
Petrosyan was last seen on April 20, 2022, when he stopped Fatih Aydin in the second round of their meeting, a bounce back fight for him, following an upset stoppage loss at the hands of Superbon Banchamek. Only the third defeat of the 38-year old's professional career, it snapped an 8-year undefeated streak and caused the great to consider retirement.
Sergio "Dinamita" Sanchez earned the highest-profile win of his career this past November, as he was able to triumph over Giorgio's brother Armen Petrosyan in a vacant WAKO-Pro championship bout. Sanchez will look to build on his previous success and do what only three of the 112 men to face the two-time K-1 MAX winner were able to achieve.
