As kickboxing continues to grow on a global scale with promotions like GLORY, K-1, ONE Championship, and more, fighters are constantly jockeying for position in the media's eyes, and rankings. Each month, the Beyond Kickboxing board will publish updated rankings for every weight class, from Heavyweight to Flyweight, along with pound-for-pound rankings for both men and women.
No fighter in the top 10 at Women's Strawweight (-50 kg) has been active this month.
MEN'S POUND-FOR-POUND
Chico Kwasi (3 to 1) defeated Teodor Hristov by unanimous decision to successfully defend his GLORY welterweight title for the fifth time. Now the de facto king across two competitive weight divisions, Kwasi takes the pound-for-pound throne as other top fighters falter or leave the sport.
Petchpanomrung (2 to NR) exits the rankings following his departure from GLORY and comments about his future hinting at a return to Muay Thai rules. While his future in ONE Championship has also been discussed, the Thai fighter is currently not signed to any kickboxing promotion.
Kazuki Osaki (1 to 4) lost his RISE -53kg World title to Ryujin Nasukawa (NR to 3) by extension-round split decision. Nasukawa, just like his brother years ago, proves to be a pound-for-pound talent, not letting Osaki rest on top of the rankings as he beat him to the punch in another close affair. Now competing in ONE Championship in addition to RISE, the 20-year-old has ample opportunity to show whether he truly belongs this high in the rankings.
