GLORY 107: Chico Kwasi Becomes Two-Division Champion After Edging Out Donovan Wisse in Rotterdam

Chico Kwasi made history at GLORY 107, defeating Donovan Wisse to become a two-division champion, while the light heavyweight proving ground bouts produced several standout contenders.

A historic night unfolded at GLORY 107 as Chico Kwasi etched his name into the promotion’s history books. Fighting in front of a packed RTM Stage in Rotterdam, the welterweight champion moved up in weight and defeated Donovan Wisse to capture the GLORY middleweight world title.

In a bout defined by fine margins, both fighters traded momentum across five tightly contested rounds. Wisse started sharply, relying on his trademark composure and technical precision, but Kwasi gradually grew into the fight. When the Amsterdam native began to impose his rhythm, finding success mostly with his uppercut.

The contest ultimately went to the judges, who were split in their decision (50-45, 48-47, 48-47, 48-47, 47-48), awarding Kwasi the victory. The victory makes the 28-year-old the third two-division champion in GLORY Kickboxing history, alongside Alex Pereira and Robin van Roosmalen. Further, he becomes only the second fighter to hold two titles at the same time, joining Pereira.

 

Light Heavyweight Division Takes Center Stage


A significant portion of the card was dedicated to the light heavyweight “proving ground” bouts, with several fighters strengthening their case for inclusion in the upcoming COLLISION 9 tournament.

Cem Caceres delivered a controlled performance over three rounds to defeat late replacement Sebastian Lutaniuc, showcasing consistency and ring control. Mohammed Touchassie made a strong statement by scoring two knockdowns against Jimmy Livinus, effectively securing the fight early. Stefan Latescu showed he has been working on his kicks, which rewarded him with a unanimous decision over Iuri Fernandes

Elsewhere, Mohammed Hamdi edged past Alin Nechita in a closely fought contest, while Luis Tavares rebounded from an early knockdown to defeat Mohamed Amine in a heated three-round battle. Albert Ugrincic grinded to a decision win over Clayton, after having his calf compromised early in the Superfight series.
