The biggest kickboxing promotion in Europe has announced a multi-year deal with DAZN to broadcast events in Belgium and France.
Starting with the GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix on March 9, French and Belgium fans will be able to view the event and subsequent events through DAZN. The announcement comes ahead of GLORY announcing that they plan to return to France at the Dôme de Paris on April 27 for GLORY 91 after a successful, sold-out event when they went to Paris for GLORY 88 in September.
Pierre Andurand, GLORY Chairman and Co-founder, said in an official statement regarding the deal and a return to France.
"I am excited to partner with DAZN in the France & Belgium region, helping to make all GLORY events even more accessible for fans. It’s an important market for us and one in which we are fully invested in developing further in 2024 and beyond.
We had an incredible response from fans in France when we returned there last September and I am thrilled to announce we are coming back on April 27 at the Dome De Paris. It was one of the best events of the year and French fans can expect more GLORY events on French soil in the future."
This partnership comes on the heels of DAZN hiring Brice Daumin as their new chief executive for their French and Swiss divisions on February 15. Daumin previously worked as a Managing Director for Canal+, a premium French television channel that specializes in movie and sports programming. The deal is part of a strategy for expansion into the French markets, particularly as combat sports gain traction in France with the rising popularity of Cedric Doumbe and Francis Ngannou. DAZN has also been in talks for domestic rights to Ligue 1, the top football league in France.
