The popular one-night tournament will make a return next year.

At the press conference for K-1 Rebirth 2, K-1 producer Carlos Kikuta shared the promotion's plans for the upcoming calendar year.

K-1 WORLD MAX will make a return on March 20 at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan. A favorite for many, K-1 WORLD MAX was a yearly 70 KG Grand Prix from 2002 to 2014 that gave birth to some of the sport's biggest stars such as Buakaw, Masato, Andy Souwer, and Giorgio Petrosyan.

Kikuta already specified that MAX this time will include all weight classes from Middleweight (75 KG) and below. How MAX will differentiate itself from previous one-night tournaments the promotion has held in recent years has not been revealed.

In addition to five tournaments in Japan, K-1 will also expand overseas in 2024.

Starting in March, K-1 will join the efforts of GLORY, ONE Championship, and RIZIN and start conducting doping tests for all athletes fighting.
