The K-1 World GP 2023 will take place tomorrow morning, Monday, July 16, at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.
All 46 fighters made weight on their first attempt, and the event will proceed tomorrow as planned with 23 bouts.
The card features six K-1 champions, four of them in non-title bouts against international competition.
In the headlining bout Hiromi Wajima puts his K-1 Super Welterweight title on the line against Dutch heavy-hitter Jordann Pikeur. The two have fought five years ago at Krush 93, where Pikeur took home the unanimous decision win. The momentum is on the side of the champion however, as he's riding a seven fight winstreak.
KANA will defend her title against K-1 Women's Flyweight McKenna Wade. Her original opponent Amy Pirnie pulled out of the fight, due to K-1 announcing the prematurely.
The K-1 World GP 2023 will stream on ABEMA at 12:30 PM Japanese time. The stream will most likely be region-locked, meaning international viewers will need a VPN to watch.
