RISE Super Flyweight (-53 KG) champion Kazuki Osaki announced at a Tokyo press conference on Monday that he has vacated his title to fight for the RISE World Super Flyweight title at a later date. First, he will fight on the GLORY x RISE Grand Prix card on December 21 in a non-title fight. His opponent is yet to be determined.
"I have decided to give up the belt that I have held for four years so that I can challenge the world," said Osaki at a press conference held in Tokyo on Monday. “I feel a little sad because I just defended [my belt], and I also feel a little sad to let it go because I was a champion alongside my brother Koki [Osaki]."
His brother Koki will be making his ONE Championship Debut against Huo Xiaolong on November 8.
Jin Mandokoro will fight Ryu Hanaoka at RISE 184 on December 15 for the newly vacated belt.
During the press conference, Osaki also announced his engagement to Shootobox Japan Women's Atomweight Champion Misaki.
