The reigning ONE Muay Thai Bantamweight Champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao will look to extend his title reign by another year.
Earlier today, ONE Championship announced that Nong-O would make his next title defense against the former ONE Kickboxing Bantamweight Champion Alaverdi Ramazanov at ONE on Prime Video 6 on January 13. The championship bout will take place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, and will be the Thai native's first fight back in his home country since his first ONE title defense in May 2019.
The pair was initially scheduled to face each other in the main event of ONE: X Part II on March 25, but Ramazanov later withdrew for undisclosed reasons.
Nong-O has been undefeated since signing with ONE Championship in early 2018. After winning two non-title bouts in his first two appearances with the Singapore based promotion, he captured the inaugural Muay Thai Bantamweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Han Zihao, a title which he was since defended a total of six times. Nong-O is currently riding a nine-fight winning streak, the last four of which he won by stoppage.
The former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing Champion Ramazanov lost his belt in January of last year, as he was knocked out by Capitan Petchyindee Academy. He rebounded from this loss with a first-round knockout of the two-weight Lumpinee Stadium Champion Pongsiri P.K.Saenchaimuaythaigym and followed that up by avenging his loss to Capitan by split decision.
In the other announced bout of the card, pound-for-pound great Anissa Meksen will take on the ONE three-sport champion Stamp Fairtex in a mixed rules bout, which will alternate rounds contested under Muay Thai and mixed martial arts rules.
