Thailand's Buakaw is a Muay Thai and Kickboxing superstar. As a young man, he made his name known worldwide when he was able to capture K-1 World MAX Grand Prix Championship in 2004 and 2006. At last, the 40-year-old athlete returned to Japan and stepped back into the RIZIN kickboxing ring with a record of 240-24-13.
Standing across from Buakaw was the dangerous Rukiya Anpo. Anpo, 27, is a Japanese kickboxer with a Kyokushin karate base, and possesses one of the best highlight reels in the sport. In 2019, Anpo was able to capture the K-1 Super Lightweight belt with a close win over Kaew Fairtex.

The first round saw Anpo with a significant speed advantage landing impressive combinations. Buakaw was looking to answer with power. Both men landed heavy leather in the second round, each athlete aiming for a finish. The two fighters looked fatigued in the third round, with Buakaw pursuing still Anpo aggressively.
