The most dominant champion currently active in ONE Championship has his next assignment.
Roman Kryklia will make his third ONE Light Heavyweight championship defense against Françesko Xhaja in the main event of ONE Fight Night 12, which will take place on July 14 at the storied Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
One of the most commanding presences in the sport at the moment, Krkylia will look to extend his 13-fight win streak, which includes six victories over fighters who were at one point or another featured in our divisional rankings and two Heavyweight tournament triumphs. He'll rightly be seen as a significant favorite against Xhaja, who was a relatively unknown fighter in the Heavyweight division prior to his decision wins over Ahmed Krnjić and Andrei Stoica over the past two years.
Should Kryklia once again see his hand raised, he'll have beaten almost every possible contender currently signed with ONE Championship, excluding Ahmed Krnjić and Beybulat Isaev. While a rematch with the winner of the Rade Opačić and Guto Inocente bout seems to be the next fight to make, it'll be interesting to see who the promotion will bring in as the next challenger after that.
