With Tyjani Beztati (16-3, 5 KO) dominating the Lightweight division and Endy Semeleer (36-2, 18 KO) outclassing his challengers, a champ vs. champ matchup between the two was already the talk of the town. When GLORY announced a pause of the Lightweight division and Beztati made his wish to move up known to the world, it seemed just a matter of time until the two would meet. Few had suspected that Chico Kwasi would come along and throw a spanner in the works. "Luffy" spectacularly beat Semeleer in Paris at GLORY 91. Therefore Beztati’s Welterweight debut will be over three rounds instead of the 5 rounds that characterize a championship bout.
It seems that the loss of the belt is no issue for GLORY and Semeleer to set up this clash of giants. However the matchup raised an eyebrow of the new champion Kwasi, who went after Beztati in the comment section of GLORY’s announcement on Instagram: "[Tyjani] if you had mentioned my name only once, you would have gotten a title fight against me. But well… see you soon!"

WELTERWEIGHT ACTION
The Welterweights have proven time after time to be one of the most exciting weight classes in GLORY. Apart from the main event, two other Welterweight bouts have been announced so far for GLORY 93. Robin Ciric (22-7, 7 KO) and Diaguely Camara (24-6-1, 10 KO) will fight an immediate rematch following the controversy surrounding their fight in Paris at GLORY 91. After the Frenchman slipped and lost his balance, Ciric failed to hear the repeated “stop” by the referee, resulting in Camara being out on his feet. The fight continued without repercussions for Ciric, who took home the decision. Also in the Welterweight division two ranked prospects cross paths Mehdi Ait El Hadj (32-4-2, 8 KO) and Don Sno (4-1, 2 KO) will both want to prove they belong in the top 10 and are ready to challenge the big names.
