Kickboxing Rankings January 2026 — Michael Boapeah Wins Light Heavyweight Tournament, Becomes Division's New Top Contender

We take a look at all the top fighters that were in action during the last month.

As kickboxing continues to grow on a global scale with promotions like GLORY, K-1, ONE Championship, and more, fighters are constantly jockeying for position in the media's eyes, and rankings. Each month, the Beyond Kickboxing board will publish updated rankings for every weight class, from Heavyweight to Flyweight, along with pound-for-pound rankings for both men and women.

No fighter in the top ten at Super Bantamweight (-61 kg), Bantamweight (-58 kg), Women Bantamweight (-57.5 kg), Women Strawweight (-50kg) has been active this month.

 


 

POUND-FOR-POUND MEN

Chico Kwasi (7 to NR) lost by unanimous decision to Teodor Hristov in the semifinals of the GLORY welterweight tournament. In the other semifinal, Endy Semeleer defeated Don Sno by unanimous decision. Semeleer went on to defeat Hristov by unanimous decision in the final to win the tournament.

Petpanomrung (1) defeated Denis Wosik by unanimous decision to advance to the GLORY x RISE Last Featherweight Standing quarterfinals.

Miguel Trindade (10 to 9) defeated Bobo Sacko by unanimous decision, also qualifying for the GLORY x RISE Last Featherweight Standing quarterfinals.

Giorgi Malania (NR to 10) debuts in the pound-for-pound rankings. The 21-year-old Georgian is the reigning WLF champion, boasting a 20-1 record while continuing to dominate the Chinese circuit.
 


 

HEAVYWEIGHT (+95 KG)

Nico Pereira Horta (8 to 7) was stopped in the first round by Nidal Bchiri (NR to 6) after three knockdowns.

 


 

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT (-95 KG)

Michael Boapeah (6 to 2) defeated Iuri Fernandes by unanimous decision in the semifinals of the GLORY Light Heavyweight tournament. He then went on to defeat Miloš Cvjetićanin (NR to 5) by unanimous decision in the final to win the tournament.

Cem Caceres (5 to 6) was knocked out by Miloš Cvjetićanin (NR to 5) in the first round.

Donegi Abena (2 to NR) leaves the rankings after announcing his retirement from kickboxing and signing with an MMA promotion.

 


 

MIDDLEWEIGHT (-85 KG)

Ulric Bokeme (3) defeated Frangis Goma by unanimous decision in a back-and-forth fight that saw both men score knockdowns.

Serkan Özçağlayan (4) defeated Karoo Gijahi by majority decision. Three weeks later, he followed up with a unanimous decision win over Aristote Quitusisa.

Fabian Lorito (10) knocked out late-notice replacement Alexandru Velenciuc with a jumping front kick.

 


 

WELTERWEIGHT (-77 KG)

Chico Kwasi (1 to 3) lost by unanimous decision to Teodor Hristov (5 to 2) in the semifinals of the GLORY welterweight tournament. In the other semifinal, Endy Semeleer (2 to 1) defeated Don Sno (10 to 9) by unanimous decision. Semeleer went on to defeat Hristov by unanimous decision in the final to win the tournament.

Alexis Nicolas (4 to NR) leaves the rankings after retiring from kickboxing and signing with an MMA promotion. 

Diaguely Camara (NR to 10) enters the rankings.

Vedat Hoduk (7) defeated Cicero Evangelista by unanimous decision.

 


 

LIGHTWEIGHT (-71 KG)

Sitthichai lands a kick.

Sitthichai (5 to 7 lost by unanimous decision to Kaito (8 to 6) in a Knock Out title fight. The Japanese fighter pulled off the upset, a controversial decision in the eyes of many fans.

Mohammad Siasarani (6 to 5) knocked out Jo Nattawut under Muay Thai rules. This does not affect his ranking.

Liu Mengyang (NR to 10) makes his entry after stopping Tawanchai with a low kick in under a minute. The Chinese fighter has enjoyed a strong year, previously scoring wins over Shadow and Masaaki Noiri in the past twelve months.

 


 

SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT (-67.5 KG)

Petpanomrung (1) defeated Denis Wosik by unanimous decision to advance to the GLORY x RISE Last Featherweight Standing quarterfinals.

Miguel Trindade (2) defeated Bobo Sacko (8) by unanimous decision, also qualifying for the GLORY x RISE Last Featherweight Standing quarterfinals.

 


 

FEATHERWEIGHT (-64 KG)

Taimu lands a flush left hand.

Kongnapa Weerasakreck (10) lost by extension-round split decision to Taimu Hisai under Muay Thai rules. A controversial decision, after the two fighters went to an extra-round. This does not affect his ranking.

 


 

SUPER FLYWEIGHT (-55 KG)

Ryu Hanaoka (7) defeated Masahiko Suzuki (8) by unanimous decision.

 


 

FLYWEIGHT (-53 KG)

Jaroensuk gets his revenge.

Kazuki Osaki (1) stood no chance Jaroensuk BoonlannaMuaythai under Muay Thai rules. The Japanese fighter lost a wide 50-45, getting clinched through the entirety of this Rajadamnern world title challenge. This does not affect his ranking.

Jin Mandokoro (4) stopped Shuri Sakayori in two rounds with punches.

Sora Tanazawa (5) defeated Fumito Nakata by unanimous decision for the second time to defend his Deep Kick -53kg title.

 


 

WOMEN'S OPENWEIGHT (+59 KG)

Marieke Calis (4 to 2) defeated Rachel Ebben by second-round TKO.

Ibtissam Kassrioui (2 to NR) leaves the rankings after 18 months of inactivity. 

Omni Mingsupphakun (NR to 10) makes her entry as the WKU World champion.

 


 

WOMEN'S FLYWEIGHT (-53.5 KG)

Kiho (4 to 6) lost her Knock Out title to Mako Yamada (5) by majority decision.

Momoka Cinderella (10 to 9) defeated Minori Kikuchi by unanimous decision.
