John Lineker will make the jump to Muay Thai rules for the first time at ONE Fight Night 18 on January 12, 2024 at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Opposite him will be Muay Thai veteran Liam Harrison.
Instead of taking another crack at ONE Bantamweight champion Fabricio Andrade, Lineker - like so many other ONE athletes - hopes to make an impression in another discipline to keep busy. The 33-year-old was last seen in action at ONE Fight Night 14, where was able to overcome Stephen Loman over three rounds. With Fabricio Andrade recovering from his second-round stoppage loss against Jonathan Haggerty, ‘Hands of Stone’ jumps into the shark pool that is the ONE Muay Thai Bantamweight division. Despite that, Lineker is confident in his chances to pull off the upset, "If I do well, I intend to keep fighting Muay Thai and MMA."
Liam Harrison, 38, is making his long-awaited return to the ring after suffering a lingering knee injury in his loss against former champion Nong-O. Rumors around this bout have been circulating around the scene for quite some time, as the promotion tried to negotiate a fitting ruleset.
With both athletes producing some of the most memorable brawls in recent memory, the fight sure is to produce fireworks.
