In the headlining bout, promotional newcomer Jonathan Di Bella scored an impressive unanimous decision victory over Chinese prodigy Zhang Peimian to capture the vacant ONE Strawweight Kickboxing title. Di Bella came into this bout undefeated but fairly untested, having competed mostly on the regional circuit.
The Italian-Canadian came out aggressive, firing middle kicks and left straights to keep the Chinese fighter at bay. As the undefeated fighter star pressed on, the “Fighting Rooster" started to find his rhythm, attacking the lead leg of Di Bella with a multitude of leg kicks. Over four high-paced rounds, the fighters went blow-for-blow and made it anyone's guess who was ahead heading into the final round.
Halfway through the fifth round, Di Bella suddenly swung ahead, as he connected a flush left head kick that sent Zhang crashing to the canvas. Enough for the three judges sitting cageside that awarded him the win.
In another standout bout for striking fans, Jimmy Vienot defeated Niclas Larsen via unanimous decision. The Frenchman put on a beautiful performance, countering most of Larsen's offense, firing back with punches of his own. The former title contender has put himself straight back into title contention. An interesting situation, as many fans thought he won his fight against Petchmorakot. The Thai has since lost his ONE Muay Thai Featherweight title against Tawanchai, and parted ways with the promotion, alongside all other Petchyindee students. The perfect opportunity for Vienot to challenge Tawanchai.
