ONE 171 suffered a major setback as Ilias Ennahachi has been ruled out of his fight against Petchtanong. The highly anticipated bantamweight clash will not go ahead, ONE Championship announced earlier today, after Ennahachi failed to pass his medical exams.

The Moroccan-Dutch kickboxer already faced trouble at yesterday’s weigh-ins. After the assigned three-hour period, he exceeded the bantamweight limit of 145 lbs and was also above the allowed catchweight threshold. Given additional time to cut weight, he eventually reached 150.75 lbs, seemingly making the catchweight bout a done deal.

However, doctors later deemed Ennahachi unfit to compete, leading to the fight’s cancellation.

This matchup was set to serve as a title eliminator, with the winner likely earning a shot at the bantamweight belt after Jonathan Haggerty and Wei Rui’s championship clash.

It’s a tough break for Petchtanong, who had his own medical issues in his last scheduled bout. He was hospitalized ahead of his December 7, 2024, fight against Nabil Anane at ONE Fight Night 26, forcing that contest’s cancellation as well.
