ONE Championship adds another competitive Kickboxing bout to ONE 171: Qatar! Petchtanong Petchfergus will face off against Ilias Ennahachi at the Lusail Sports Arena on February 20, 2025 in a 3x3 minute round kickboxing bout with the implication of a potential title shot on the line.
Petchtanong makes his return to the ring after his win against Alaverdi Ramazanov in June, a fight he won after serving a 1-year suspension for banned substances. Back in December, Petchatnong failed hydration and missed weight for his bantamweight kickboxing bout against Nabil Anane. Shortly after, he was hospitalized and required IV drips, leading to that fight's cancellation.
Ennahachi comes off a win over former champion Hiroki Akimoto and hopes to solidify a shot at the title by beating Petchtanong. He remains the only person in ONE Championship to have beaten the current Flyweight Kickboxing champion and Muay Thai Bantamweight champion Superlek.
This main event will feature Jonathan "The General" Haggerty, who will defend his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing championship belt for the first time. His opponent is #1-ranked contender, Wei Rui, the former K-1 champion from China who is currently on a 21-fight win streak and holds notable win over former champion Hiroki Akimoto.
