Rade Opačić Has Signed With GLORY Kickboxing — "Everyone Knows That GLORY Has the Most Stacked Heavyweight Division"

Dec 20, 2024
Another big name is joining GLORY's heavyweight ranks.

Rade Opačić, 27, has joined GLORY Kickboxing after growing frustrated with the limited number of fight opportunities during his time with ONE Championship. Despite an impressive 7-1 record, including a victory over Guto Inocente after their 2022 bout, Opačić found himself increasingly sidelined.

"As soon as 2023 came around, things changed and I’ve had just two fights in the past two years,” Opačić tells MMA Fighting. “As a result, I had to request single fight releases to fight outside of ONE just to keep active."

With ONE Fight Night 18 in January 2024 being the last event featuring heavyweights, it raises the question of where this leaves the rest of the division, especially with champion Roman Kryklia absent for reasons unknown. Françesko Xhaja, Andrei Stoica, and Guto Inocente are just a few names that found themselves sidelined and have likely moved on.

The Serbian kickboxer is determined to make the most of his prime years as he sets his sights on a championship run in one of kickboxing's most competitive divisions.
