Quick turnaround for ONE Flyweight Muay Thai Champion Rodtang, as he makes his return to kickboxing to take on Daniel Puertas in a non-title fight.
In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Rodtang revealed his plan to first capture the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing belt, before "definitely" making his way into MMA. Of course, an eventual clash with Takeru is something the Thai star also set his eyes set on.
While waiting to take on the winner of the Muay Thai Flyweight Grand Prix, the 25-year-old has cleaned out his division so it makes sense for him to build his kickboxing resume, before eventually challenging for the title. ONE Championship is happily obeying, making this the second Prime Video appearance for 'The Ironman'.
In other news – Superbon is out due to 'illness' again. His ONE Kickboxing Featherweight title defense against Chingiz Allazov, which was supposed to go down next week, will have to wait once more, making this the second time in a row the Thai champion has pulled out of a fight.
He will instead return to Bangkok for the first time in two years at ONE on Prime Video 6 on January 14.
The two were originally supposed to clash on October 1, but the Belarusian kickboxer withdrew in the build-up because of an injury.
Superbon then was scheduled to take on late-replacement Tayfun Ozcan, but withdrew on weigh-in day. A source later told Beyond Kickboxing that he was out with a 'sinus infection'.
Other notable bouts include the Kickboxing Flyweight Championship rematch between Ilias Ennahachi and Superlek. Superlek looks to seize the opportunity, capturing titles in both Kickboxing and Muay Thai, as he takes on Panpayak in a title-eliminator just one month earlier.
